these are the rules: * all sounds must be produced only by casio sk-5 keyboards *music should be improvised, or spontaneously created using written, drawn or other non-musical material as reference. the group may generate such material collectively or as individuals, but this process should take place in an environment free from casio sk-5 keyboards and all other musical equipment that might be used as conventional composition tools. third-party sources of guide material are also allowed, examples of this might include a newspaper article, a graphic novel or an observation of the flight of birds *each player may choose an effects unit to process the output from his or her sk-5 *in addition to the preset tones of the sk-5 keyboard, each player may sample up to four different sources using the instrument. further sampling during performance is also permitted. samples may be stored in the machine's non-volatile memory. musical information may also be recorded during performance using the sk-5 keyboard's onboard sequencer *titles of pieces will be chosen from a constantly updated list of approved names prepared in advance by the sk-5 naming comittee |
